Coronavirus fallout: Few top executives

MUMBAI: 

Top MNC automobile company executives from China who were scheduled to visit India for the Auto Expo that begins this week have canceled their trip due to the dangerous Coronavirus.

The last-minute decision has meant several vendors in a dilemma. The china advising people not to board on trips suggested by a health emergency.

Chang’s Automobile company, which is exploring local manufacturing in India, is expecting to send a large team to study the Indian market more closely.

A Great Wall Motors vendor meet on February 5 canceled. “Till last night, the meeting with partners was open for discussion,” said one of the persons. “But the decision taken on Monday.

In China, the company executives advised to work from home and not to go out. The absence of company executives  understandable because of the situations caused by a dangerous coronavirus, but Auto Expo will go on as per schedule.”

The number of deaths reached 362, with more than 17,459 infected by a dangerous coronavirus, the Guardian reported on Monday.

Chinese companies such as MG Motor, Great Wall, FAW Haima and BYD are decided to take a part in the show for the first time. where the major multinational companies like Toyota, Honda, Ford, and Nissan have decided not to attend for the expo.

The Great Wall, china’s largest SUV maker, and MG Motor have booked 3,000 sq ft of space

and will be showcasing more than 15 models each, including electric vehicles.

Great Wall will display models like:

  • Haval Concept H SUV
  • Concept Vehicle Vision 2025
  • H6 and H9 SUVs

The great wall has already set a brand name in India as Haval. Last month this company was acquired by General Motors India.
